There are many ways you can use contacts' phone numbers or email addresses to run a search.
Search for contacts with an existing phone number or email address
To return only contacts with a phone number or email address associated with the contact, follow these instructions:
- From your Contacts page, select Advanced Search.
- Click Field to see the dropdown menu and select either Phone Number or Email.
- Click is and change it to exists.
This search will automatically exclude any phone numbers you have marked as wrong, or any email addresses you have marked as wrong. You can also click is and change it to does not exist if you wish to return only contacts where you have no phone number or no email address, or only wrong contact info.
Search for contacts with a particular email address or phone number type (i.e., work, home, mobile, etc.)
- From your Contacts page, select Advanced Search.
- Click Field to see the dropdown menu and select either Phone Number or Email.
- To narrow your search only to a particular phone number or email address type, from the last dropdown menu select the email address or phone number type you are interested in.
- To return all contacts with or without a particular phone number or email address type, click is and change it to exists or does not exist.
Search for contacts by their phone number or email address, or by part of their phone number or email address
- From your Contacts page, select Advanced Search.
- Click Field to see the dropdown menu and select either Phone Number or Email.
- In the empty box, enter the email address or phone number for the contact you are looking for:
- If you are looking to include or exclude only contacts with part of an email address or phone number, you can click is and select one of the many options to do so, including: contains, does not contain, starts with, does not start with, ends with, does not end with. These options may be helpful if you are looking for contacts that all share a particular area code, or a particular email domain:
